ANDROID PRIVACY POLICY

Your focus stays on your device.

Effective October 8, 2026. This policy covers MELT for Android (com.meltfocus.melt), provided by MINSUK SONG / 청솔제이. For the iPhone and iPad app, see the iOS privacy policy.

Data stored on your device

MELT stores your language, timer and color preferences, focus session history, selected app package identifiers, and any background photo you choose in private app storage. MELT does not send this information to us or sell or share it with third parties. You do not need an account.

Optional app blocking

App blocking starts only when you start a timed focus session with selected apps. After an in-app explanation and your consent, MELT asks for Usage Access, permission to display over other apps, and notifications. Usage Access detects which app is currently in the foreground while your focus session is active, including while MELT itself is in the background. MELT compares that app with your selection and displays a focus overlay if needed. This detection is processed on the device; no app usage log is retained or transmitted. The installed app list is used only to let you choose apps. MELT does not read the contents of other apps, messages, passwords, or browsing history, and does not use an accessibility service.

A visible notification indicates that blocking is active. You can stop blocking from the notification, the blocking screen, or by ending the session. You can revoke permissions in Android Settings. Blocking ends when the time expires. One temporary unlock of up to three minutes is available per session. Battery restrictions, force stopping the app, or revoking permissions may interrupt blocking. It is a voluntary self-control tool.

Photos

When you choose a background photo through the system picker, MELT copies only the selected image into its private storage. It is not uploaded. Removing or replacing the photo deletes MELT's previous copy; the original in your photo library stays unchanged.

Analytics, advertising, and payment

The Android app has no ads or subscriptions. Analytics collection is disabled, and the app does not collect advertising identifiers. Google Play handles the one-time purchase under Google's own privacy policy. MELT does not receive your payment card details.

Retention and deletion

Data remains on your device until you remove it. You can delete focus records in the history screen and remove the background photo in setup. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it removes its locally stored preferences, selected apps, photo copy, and history. Android app backup is disabled. There is no server account to delete.

Children and changes

MELT is a general productivity tool and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. If this policy changes, the effective date and text on this page will be updated.
